Neurologic Occupational Therapy Fellowship

The Parkview Neurologic Occupational Therapy Fellowship is founded in the Parkview Pillars of Fellowship Education which include Clinical Excellence, Collaborative Practice and Teaching & Research.

Our curriculum reflects an innovative blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning, direct clinical mentoring, interprofessional collaboration, journal club and unique observational experiences. Driven by evidence-based practice and adult learning principles, the curriculum and direct mentoring ensures that the fellow can synthesize and integrate techniques and principles into direct patient care.

The fellowship begins in June of each year and ends in July of the following year.

Program goals

The fellow will demonstrate advanced knowledge of the body structures, body functions and motor skills relevant to acute neurological conditions and will be able to apply this knowledge to evidenced-based client care.
The fellow will demonstrate advanced and evidenced based reasoning skills in neurological rehabilitation to implement and adapt occupations, activities, preparatory methods/tasks, education and training to address client factors, performance skills and performance patterns for participation in occupations as they relate to the client's occupational profile.
The fellow should demonstrate advanced practice competence in the areas of ethics and applicable state/federal regulatory provisions, consultation, consumer protection, interprofessional interaction, understanding and respect for cultural and other differences in the delivery of client centered care.
The fellow will demonstrate the ability to access and establish collaborative partnerships with stakeholders to maximize the occupational participation of clients in physical rehabilitation.
The fellow will contribute to scholarly activities and advancements in the field of occupational therapy through research, case study development and presentation.
The fellow will critically assess and appraise the current literature, integrating the latest relevant evidence into advanced practice to improve a client’s occupation-based outcomes.

Program eligibility requirements

Participants must:

Be licensed in Indiana as a registered Occupational Therapist by start date.
Complete all pre-hire requirements (criminal background check, drug testing, etc.) per Human Resources deadline.
Complete/renew and maintain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (provided by Parkview).
Maintain current membership status in the AOTA.

Application requirements, fees and deadlines

Positions will be posted on this page when they are open. The deadline to apply is April 15 of each year. There are no fees to apply. For accepted fellow(s), there are no fees.

Selection process

For the selection process, applicants will be required to complete an online application. Final candidates will participate in an interview.

Form of compensation

Accepted fellows will receive financial compensation and benefits equivalent to a 0.7 full-time employee.
