3D Mammography

Parkview Noble Hospital is proud to offer state-of-the-art 3D mammography services here in our community. With this advanced diagnostic tool, patients now have a choice between traditional 2D mammography, or the latest 3D mammography used for screening and diagnosis.

Mammography is a simple, quick, non-invasive screening test used in the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. The procedure uses low-dose digital imaging to safely create images of the breast tissue. Radiologists read the images to determine whether cancer is present.

Benefits of 3D mammography:

  • Can detect breast cancer an average of 15 months earlier than standard 2D mammography
  • Reduces the number of unnecessary call-backs by up to 40%
  • Multiple images allow radiologist to see fine details of breast tissue, regardless of woman’s age or breast density
  • Takes only a few extra seconds vs. standard mammography
